PodCasts Worth Your Time

I am not generally enthusiastic about Podcasting. Many of the podcasts I've heard are simply not worth the bytes they are burned on. Sometimes it's the sound quality—high pitched, eardrum shattering one minute and too low to hear the next. Other times I'm bored by the simplicity of the subject or worse offended by the language or content. But I recently came across two podcasts that are definitely worth a listen.

Both are episodes of the American Copywriter series. Hosted by two gifted copywriters from Sullivan, Higdon, and Sink, these guys focus on the issues surrounding advertising and the creative life. Both are smart writers with a pretty good handle on the advertising business. Two recent episodes (#23 and #24) of their podcast are definitely worth downloading. Both feature parts of their interview with Sally HogsHead (see her creative work here, and a site about her new book, Radical Careering, here).

I have long admired (or is it envied?) Sally's work for clients like BMW, Mini, and Hoyts (among others). She is one of the standouts in the advertising industry. If you have an extra half hour or two, download these podcasts. They are both entertaining and informative. Well worth a listen.
